Post Type Icons in your WordPress Dashboard

Hopefully you already have had the chance to see the renewed backend of your website, if not why don’t you go and have a look?!

Apart from the rather obvious visual changes, there is also a more subtle change that you might not even have noticed.

This change is from using small images in the sidebar of the Dashboard to using a so-called icon font. This particular font is called Dashicons and has been designed by Mel Choyce.

For the sites of clients of the Senlin Hosting Club and SO WP Support that use Custom Post Types (i.e. ways to add content other than normal Posts or Pages), we have taken the liberty to change the images to Dashicons.

If you don’t really know what this is all about, then please have a look below at some screenshots of before and after of one of the sites of our clients.

Go have a look on your site to see what has changed!

And did you know that the Dashboard now also comes in many different colors? Just visit your Profile page to see the different options available!

As usual, if you have any questions, please let us know via the contact link in your Dashboard.
